As Hurricane Milton approaches Florida’s west coast, significant travel disruptions are occurring, prompting numerous closures across the region. Airports, amusement parks, and tourist attractions, including ZooTampa, are shutting their doors in preparation for the storm, which is expected to intensify and remain “extremely dangerous.”
Visit Florida, the state’s official tourism organization, has issued a warning regarding the hurricane’s potential impact, predicting landfall in the Tampa Bay area on Wednesday. In a travel advisory released on Tuesday, the organization highlighted the risks of damaging winds and life-threatening storm surges.
“This is an extremely life-threatening situation,” stated Visit Florida, urging residents in surge warning zones to heed local officials’ advice and evacuate immediately if instructed. As the storm approaches, airlines are adjusting their flight schedules, while cruise companies are modifying routes to ensure passenger safety.
