Agoda has reported a significant 45% increase in accommodation searches for the Buriram Motorcycle Race, set to take place from October 25 to 27. The data indicates that the UK, Australia, and the Netherlands are the top three markets showing the highest interest in attending the event.
According to Agoda, the analysis is based on accommodation searches made in the month following the release of tickets, revealing a notable year-on-year increase for the Buriram race. The UK leads the list of interested travelers, followed by Australia, the Netherlands, Singapore, and Switzerland. This diverse range of international searches underscores the global appeal of the motorsport event.
Andrew Smith, Senior Vice President of Supply at Agoda, commented on the findings: “Thailand’s allure as a travel destination is evident, and the enthusiasm of fans traveling to Buriram highlights their passion for the sport. It’s exciting to see a lesser-known city like Buriram gain attention, especially amid well-known tourist spots such as Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, and Koh Samui. Buriram is one of four Asian venues for the world-class motorcycle racing series, with additional events scheduled in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Japan. The popularity of the Buriram race is expected to grow even more next year, with reports suggesting it could kick off the 2025 season at Thailand’s most famous circuit. This would mark the first time in 25 years that Southeast Asia hosts the season opener.
