by Mary

A recent surge in false bomb threats has severely disrupted travel across major Indian airlines, including Air India, forcing flight delays, diversions, and the implementation of heightened security protocols.

According to reports from Indian media on Monday, over 100 bomb threats targeting flights have been recorded in the past week. While all threats have been hoaxes, they have triggered significant operational disruptions, leading airlines to incur substantial costs and inconvenience to passengers.

As a result, eight flights have been diverted over the past week, and authorities have intensified security at airports, including the use of additional surveillance measures such as closed-circuit cameras.

The false threats have posed considerable challenges for Indian airlines, highlighting the need for robust security while balancing the growing number of hoaxes.
