Mrs. Lola Ade-John, Nigeria’s Minister of Tourism, will spearhead a delegation to the World Travel Market (WTM) 2024 in London from November 5 to 7, marking the country’s re-entry into the global tourism arena after nearly a decade.
During a recent meeting with key tourism associations—including the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), the National Association of Travel Agents (NANTA), the Nigerian Association of Travel Agents (NATOP), and the Hotel and Tourism Management Association of Nigeria (HATMAN)—plans were finalized to showcase Nigeria’s rich tourism potential at the event. The Minister emphasized the need for a strong, united delegation to enhance Nigeria’s visibility on the world stage.
The Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with NANTA, aims to create a more coordinated presence at WTM 2024, building on NANTA’s previous independent representation. This strategic initiative is designed to elevate Nigeria’s profile and attract international partners and investments.
WTM 2024, one of the largest travel exhibitions globally, offers Nigeria a unique platform to present its diverse attractions, strengthen its international presence, and promote tourism as a crucial driver of economic growth and diversification. This joint effort underscores Nigeria’s renewed commitment to revitalizing its tourism sector in line with President Bola Tinubu’s vision for economic transformation and global engagement.
