Lonely Planet has recognized the Pacific Northwest in its 2025 “Best Travel” guide, spotlighting it as one of the top global travel destinations.
The latest edition includes a selection of 30 “must-see destinations,” categorized into 10 cities, 10 countries, and 10 regions. Notably, the region encompassing Mount Hood and the Columbia River Gorge is highlighted together.
This area’s stunning natural landscapes, diverse outdoor activities, rich cultural heritage, and vibrant food scene have earned it a place alongside renowned destinations such as Switzerland’s Valais, Nepal’s Terai Plains, and Jordan’s Ancient Trails.
