In time for the start of winter, Visit LivCo has launched its highly anticipated 2024 Winter Travel Guide, offering a comprehensive list of activities and destinations to explore during Livingston County’s snowy season. The 46-page guide features a variety of options, from outdoor adventures to festive holiday markets, designed to help both visitors and locals make the most of winter in the Genesee River Valley.
Kelly Burns, the Tourism Director for Livingston County, expressed excitement about the guide, which is packed with suggestions for winter sports, romantic escapes, and seasonal events. “We’ve filled this year’s guide with exciting ways to enjoy winter,” said Burns. “You’ll find the best places for winter sports, memorable St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, romantic getaways, and much more.”
Burns also encouraged visitors to start their journey at the new LivCo Basecamp in Mount Morris. This center provides local travel guides, snacks, and gear to prepare for outdoor activities.
The guide highlights Livingston County’s scenic beauty, showcasing snow-covered forests, rolling hills, and frozen lakes. Adventurers can explore Letchworth State Park, which offers snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and winter hiking. For those seeking a slower pace, the guide recommends cozy spots such as local bookstores, coffee shops, and farm-to-table restaurants, ideal for relaxing while watching the snowfall.
Holiday shopping is another key feature in the guide, which promotes Livingston County’s vibrant downtowns filled with unique offerings from regional artisans, makers, and small businesses. Shoppers can find everything from handcrafted art to gourmet desserts.
The 2024 guide also highlights the region’s growing craft beverage scene. The LivCo Libation Loop, a map showcasing 12 local breweries, cideries, wineries, and distilleries, provides a great way for visitors to enjoy a drink or take part in tastings after a day of adventure. The county’s dining scene is equally diverse, with everything from hearty pub fare to upscale farm-to-table meals made from fresh, seasonal ingredients.
