Monday saw a steady stream of travelers at Orlando International Airport, with approximately 178,000 passengers passing through. Despite the large crowds, security wait times remained manageable, peaking at a maximum of around 20 minutes for much of the day.
However, the airport anticipates a decrease in traffic on Tuesday, with about 116,000 passengers expected. The quietest day of the week is forecasted to be Christmas Day, offering a brief respite from the holiday rush.
Navigating airports during the holiday season can be overwhelming, as many travelers shared. “It can be hectic sometimes,” said Gloria Ojo, who was flying back to Maryland on Monday.
With an estimated 2.9 million people set to pass through Orlando Airport this holiday season, passengers have come prepared for the surge. Chareka Johnson, who arrived at the airport at 5:00 AM for an 8:30 flight, reflected the proactive approach many have taken to ensure smoother travel.
