Art Henry Tours, a U.S.-based company specializing in group travel, has been expanding its presence since joining the North Alton-Godfrey Business Council (NAGBC) two months ago. Scarborough, a representative from the company, is excited about her new role and is preparing for an upcoming group trip to Nashville. She is passionate about group travel and looks forward to introducing more people in Alton to the experience.
“You’re enriching that destination,” Scarborough explained. “When you travel in a group, you’re excited about the place you’re visiting, and you’re also excited about the people you meet along the way, sharing those experiences.”
Founded in 1978, Art Henry Tours is a small company based in Nashville. The company organizes group tours across the U.S., primarily for people aged 55 and older. They also work with church groups, families, and other organizations to create personalized group trips.
“We focus on group travel, taking people to various destinations together and creating unique itineraries,” Scarborough said. “From Alton, I coordinate these trips, which I consider to be like adult ‘field trips.’ It’s like you’re going back to school, but to somewhere special.”
Scarborough enjoys the challenge of planning each trip, which she likens to solving a puzzle. She makes an effort to include special experiences for each group, often leveraging her connections to arrange behind-the-scenes tours, exclusive dining opportunities, and other unique experiences.
