In a troubling incident, a travel agency was raided by police for allegedly stranding approximately 300 umrah pilgrims by failing to organize their flights to Jeddah. The victims, many of whom had been waiting for extended periods, were seen gathered in front of the agency’s premises at Pusat Perindustrian Cipta Selatan in the afternoon heat, demanding compensation for their inconvenience.
More than 50 affected pilgrims were present at the scene when police arrived around 2 p.m. The raid was led by Datuk Saiman Kasran, the head of the Selangor Commercial Crime Investigation Department, who oversaw the investigation. Authorities are expected to take further action against the travel agency as they continue to address the complaints from stranded passengers.
