Vietnam aims to welcome 23 million international tourists in 2025, surpassing pre-pandemic levels. This target marks a 31% increase from the expected foreign arrivals in 2024 and is well above the 18 million visitors recorded in 2019, according to a government statement.
Indian tourists have shown exceptional growth, with 501,000 arrivals in 2024, reflecting a 2.6-fold increase over the past two years. This surge positions India as one of Vietnam’s fastest-growing markets for international tourism.
In total, Vietnam saw 17.5 million international visitors in 2024, a 39.5% rise from 2023. About 80% of these tourists came from Asia.
Recognizing tourism as a key driver for economic growth, the Vietnamese government has set its sights on the sector’s full recovery by 2025, as forecasted by BMI Research.
