Amit Shah to Launch Fast Track Immigration Program at Major Airports Across India
Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah will inaugurate the ‘Fast Track Immigration – Trusted Traveller Program’ (FTI-TTP) at seven major airports on January 16, 2025. The airports include Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Cochin, and Ahmedabad, with the launch event taking place in Ahmedabad. This follows the earlier launch of the program on June 22, 2024, at Terminal-3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in New Delhi.
The FTI-TTP is part of India’s broader vision for a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) by 2047 under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The program aims to provide world-class immigration facilities to make international travel more seamless and secure. The facility is initially available at no cost to Indian citizens and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders.
The program is accessible through an online portal: https://ftittp.mha.gov.in. Applicants must complete an online registration, upload necessary documents, and provide biometric data either at the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) or at the airport.
Once registered, travellers will be able to use e-gates for faster immigration clearance. At both arrival and departure points, they will scan their boarding pass and passport, after which their biometric data will be authenticated. Upon successful verification, the e-gate will open automatically, granting immigration clearance.
