Etihad Airways reported a record-breaking December, marking its busiest month of 2024. Passenger numbers surged by more than 20%, reaching 1.7 million, with the airline’s load factor increasing by three percentage points to 87% compared to the same month in 2023.
Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of the UAE carrier, said, “December was our busiest month of the year, with 1.7 million passengers, a 22% increase over December 2023.” The airline carried over 18 million guests throughout 2024, maintaining a healthy annual load factor of 87%.
Neves highlighted the remarkable growth, noting an 80% increase in total passenger numbers since 2022. The airline also expanded its network, including the resumption of services to Nairobi, Kenya, and the introduction of new destinations in the coming months.
