Kenya’s startup studio, Purple Elephant Ventures (PEV), has secured $4.5 million in seed funding to accelerate its goal of reshaping Africa’s tourism sector.
PEV is working to position Africa as a leader in regenerative tourism, focusing on creating a travel industry that is both sustainable and inclusive by leveraging innovative technology. The company aims to enhance biodiversity and minimize the ecological impact of travel.
The seed funding round attracted investments from Clear Creek Investment B.V, Klister Corp., Fede Pirzo-Biroli (founder of Playfair Capital), Ian McCaig (former CEO of Lastminute.com), and Anthony Rock.
