A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for far northern Missouri as light freezing rain is expected to affect the area on Wednesday morning and afternoon.
The advisory is in effect from 3 a.m. to 6 p.m. on February 5, covering the following counties along and north of U.S. Highway 36: Andrew, Atchison, DeKalb, Gentry, Holt, Nodaway, and Worth.
Freezing drizzle and rain could lead to ice accumulations of up to one-tenth of an inch, potentially creating hazardous travel conditions. The most significant impacts are expected Wednesday morning but may continue into the afternoon.
Travelers are urged to slow down and exercise extra caution, especially on bridges and elevated surfaces, which could become icy. Some icy conditions may extend as far south as the Interstate 70 corridor.
