Belfast International Airport has announced a major upgrade to its retail and dining offerings. Lagardère Travel Retail has been appointed to manage the new duty-free, food, and beverage store. This partnership is part of a broader strategy to improve passenger experience and build on the longstanding relationship between Lagardère Travel Retail and VINCI Airports, the airport’s operator.
A Key Part of the £100 Million Revamp
The new 1,600-square-metre retail space will open in April 2025. It will be double the size of the current duty-free area, significantly enhancing shopping and dining options for passengers. The expansion is also expected to create 40 new jobs, boosting the local economy and reinforcing the airport’s importance to Northern Ireland’s economic landscape.
This development is part of VINCI Airports’ £100 million investment to modernize Belfast International Airport. The new store will offer a wide range of shopping and dining choices, with duty-free, food and beverage, and travel essentials all available in one space.
For the first time, passengers will also be able to shop at global brands like MINISO and Rituals, adding more variety for both international and local travelers.
