The UK Foreign Office has issued updated travel advice for British tourists heading to Turkey, aiming to help travelers make informed decisions about the risks of their journey.
The advice, found on the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) website, provides new information for those visiting the Middle Eastern country. Ramadan, the Islamic month of fasting, prayer, and reflection, is expected to begin on February 28 or March 1 and will last for 29 or 30 days. The FCDO has warned that during this period, it may be considered disrespectful to eat, drink, smoke, or chew gum in public, including in cars. Additionally, playing loud music or dancing could also be seen as offensive.
