JNTO’s Events in Perth and Sydney Celebrate Japan’s Tourism Growth

by Mary

The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) recently concluded two successful exhibition-style events for travel agents in Perth and Sydney, held at The Westin Perth and Doltone House Hyde Park, respectively. Both events were fully booked, with approximately 200 attendees in total. Each event showcased around 40 prominent Japanese suppliers, offering a valuable networking opportunity and allowing trade partners and agents to gather essential information about Japan as a travel destination.

A highlight of the events was the appearance of Myaku-Myaku, the official mascot for Expo 2025, who added a lively touch to the evening’s festivities. This special guest helped raise awareness for the upcoming World Expo, which will be held in Osaka from April 13 to October 13, 2025.

Harriett Bougher, Senior Assistant Marketing Manager at JNTO, expressed gratitude to attendees for contributing to the impressive growth in Japan’s regional tourism.

The events were further enriched with cultural entertainment, including a traditional koto performance, providing a serene backdrop as the audience learned about Japan’s new offerings. Enthusiasm for Japan’s culture and travel experiences was palpable.

Additionally, the events featured prize giveaways, including accommodation stays, traditional crafts, and Japanese spirits, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere. Both evenings were expertly coordinated by Linkd Tourism.
