Screen NSW has announced a new initiative to support up to five experienced game developers from New South Wales (NSW) with travel grants to attend the 2025 Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco. Applications are now open for eligible developers to apply for funding through the GDC 2025 Market Travel Program.
Each successful applicant will receive up to AUD $5,000 in travel support, aimed at covering the costs of air travel and/or accommodation. This funding is designed to make the renowned event more accessible for NSW developers, offering them the opportunity to tap into GDC’s networking, educational, and growth opportunities.
GDC is a global gathering of the video game industry’s top professionals, featuring talks, panels, and exhibits that showcase the latest technological advancements and industry trends. It provides invaluable opportunities for developers to expand their skills and forge global connections.
Kyas Hepworth, Head of Screen NSW, highlighted the importance of the program, stating, “We have first-class developers in our state, and supporting them to travel overseas for premier events like GDC allows them to gain invaluable insights, make connections, and bring new knowledge and innovation back to NSW.”
