Albany Airport Prepares for Surge in Travelers as Winter Break

Albany International Airport (ALB) is preparing for a significant surge in travelers as Presidents Week and school winter breaks approach. With thousands expected to pass through the airport, officials are advising passengers to plan ahead for a smooth travel experience.

Sam Fresina, Chair of the Albany County Airport Authority Board of Directors, emphasized the airport’s commitment to ensuring a positive experience for the many travelers. “We take great pride in providing a world-class airport that meets the demands of our travelers and look forward to safely connecting families, friends, and loved ones from the Capital Region and beyond,” said Fresina.

According to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the busiest travel days will begin on Friday, February 14. Over 5,500 passengers are expected to depart on Friday, with more than 6,000 projected for Saturday, February 15.
