The yellow warning, which takes effect at 6am on Friday and lasts until 6pm, covers areas including Angus, Perth and Kinross, Aberdeenshire, Dumfries and Galloway, Scottish Borders, East and South Ayrshire, and South Lanarkshire. An additional wind warning is in place from 8am for southwest Scotland.
