The Foreign Office has issued a warning for UK tourists traveling to Spain. Upon arrival, travelers may be required to present five key documents at Spanish border control.
These include a return or onward ticket, proof of travel insurance, evidence of sufficient funds for the duration of the stay (the amount varies depending on accommodation), and a hotel booking confirmation or proof of address if staying at a private property.
The fifth document required is an invitation or proof of address if staying with friends, family, or other third parties. This could be a “carta de invitation” completed by your hosts.
The FCDO clarified that UK tourists can visit the Schengen area, including Spain, without a visa for up to 90 days within any 180-day period.
