82% of parents are planning to take their children out of school this year to avoid the high costs and travel congestion associated with peak holiday periods.
The survey also found that 84% of Australian travelers intend to avoid at least one peak school holiday travel period in 2025 to sidestep rising prices, overcrowding, and travel disruptions. This marks a 10% increase in the number of travelers making this choice compared to the previous year.
The cost of airfares has also risen by 13.3% since July 2024, further driving this shift in travel behavior. In 2024, 74% of survey respondents opted to holiday during off-peak or low season to escape the higher prices and risks of congestion during school holiday periods.
