Spring Break Travel at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport Expected to Be Busy

by Mary

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is anticipating a busy Spring Break travel period from March 6-24, 2025, with an estimated 4.8 million passengers expected to pass through the airport. This represents a 2.4% increase in travelers compared to last year, and many travel days are projected to have over 250,000 passengers.

In light of “record-breaking” travel volumes and ongoing construction to upgrade and expand the airport, DFW has shared several recommendations to help travelers navigate the busy period and avoid delays:

Arrive Early: Plan to arrive at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights. Utilize drivetime apps to check traffic conditions and adjust your departure times accordingly.

Use Public Transit: DART’s Orange Line provides direct access to Terminal A, while Trinity Metro’s TEXRail connects to Terminal B. The Trinity Railway Express (TRE) also offers service from Dallas and Fort Worth to the CentrePort/DFW Airport Station, with terminal access via the TRE Link shuttle.

Prebook Parking: Save time and secure the best rates by prebooking your parking online. In addition to terminal parking, Express and Remote parking lots provide convenient shuttle service to all terminals.

These tips are designed to help passengers navigate the increased traffic and ensure a smoother travel experience during the Spring Break rush.
