Africa World Airlines Strengthens Operations, Expands Travel Options

by Mary

Africa World Airlines (AWA), Ghana’s leading airline and the longest-serving carrier on the Lagos – Accra route, has pledged to further strengthen its operations and offer greater travel options to its customers.

During a Trade Partners’ Forum and Award Reception, Mr. Jonathan Kofi Appiah, Head of Commercial, emphasized that many airlines operating on the Lagos – Accra route only survive for 5 to 10 years. However, AWA has exceeded these expectations, continuing to provide excellent, safe, and secure services to its valued passengers.

We consistently ensure our flights depart and arrive as scheduled at all destinations,” said Mr. Appiah. “In the near future, we plan to expand our offerings by introducing flights to Port Harcourt, providing our guests with even more travel options.”

Mr. Kingsley Chima, AWA’s Country Manager in Lagos, shared the airline’s recovery progress post-Covid-19. “We’ve faced challenges in returning to five flights daily, but our immediate goal is to operate three daily flights. We also plan to restore early morning flights out of Accra and Lagos,” he stated. “We are here today because of your continued support, and we are truly grateful.”

Mr. Aaron Nortey, AWA’s Sales and Marketing Manager, reiterated the airline’s core values: “At AWA, we strive to be a safe, efficient, punctual, cost-conscious, and reliable airline committed to offering the best service possible.”
