by Mary

With just a couple of weeks left until the official start of spring, spring break travel is already in full swing at John Glenn International Airport in Columbus. Around 900,000 passengers are expected to depart from the airport between March and April, making it a bustling time for travelers.

As spring break kicks off, airport officials are also navigating the challenges posed by the ongoing construction of the new terminal. Despite the construction, the airport is handling the first wave of travelers with optimism.

“For me, it’s all about relaxing on the beach and not having to worry about work or studying for a while,” said Ishan Puri, another Ohio University student. Ohio University and Ohio State University’s spring breaks come just a few months after the construction project at the airport began, making this spring break a mix of travel excitement and airport transformation.
